The folding radar reflector, type RS470-Z,complies with the technical performance requirements of Resolution IMO A.384(X) and ISO 8729 (2010). MSC.164(78), and is fit for use on marine ship as well as lifeboats and liferafts.
The folding radar reflector is consisted of two parts, foldable angle reflector and fixing arrangements. For all parts, refer to the figure shown hereinafter.
This product is small volume, light weight, folding, comvenient to store and easy to install, and of good reflection performance and longer.
Installation Method
1. Open the plastic bag and take out the folding radar reflector from it, then loosen the Adjusting screw.
2. Open the folding radar reflector, make the umbrella spring leap out and lock, and tighten the adjusting screw, to make the performance of reflection screen fibres capable of remaining in best effectiveness.
3. Connect the Connecting bolts to the reflecting net strut of the folding radar reflector, and then tighten it with the Lock nut
4. Connect the Upper and lower struts connecting rod with the upper and lower stays restrictively, and then fix them with the necking strut spring pin.
5. Connect the Base flange of lower stay with the seat on lifeboat or liferaft, and then lash them tightly with the ropes.
Precautions
1. The folding radar reflector shall be stored at a dry and ventilated place, and protected from the corrosion of acid or alkaline substances.
2. After being unpacked, the radar reflector shall be re-sealed in a vacuum plastic bag.
3. Neither rupture nor disconnection is slowed to appear on the meral composite surface of the reflection screen. It shall also be prevented from being impacted by sharp object and heabily pressed.
Inspection and maintenance
This folding radar reflector shall be inspected and repaired together with liferaft as specified by the state administration.
1. Within the validity (5 years), the folding radar reflector shall be mounted, and its all parts shall be easy to handle. Then, it shall be wrapped in a plastic bag and sealed.
2. When exceeding the expiry date, the folding radar reflector shall be subjected to an echoing area at the appointed testing unit. It can be put into use only after obtaining the qualification certificate of the testing unit upon Satisfactorily testing.
3. The damaged parts, if any, shall be repaired or renewed.
