Hydrostatic Release Unit for Liferaft

JSQ-Ill Hydrostatic Release Unit For Liferaft is a device used forreleasing inflatable liferafts fastened on ships. lt can released bymanual and water active. When a ship sinks, HRU can releaseLiferaft manually or when liferaft dropped into water within adepth of 2~4 m, the HRU release liferaft automatically and thenliferaft functions properly.

This user manual is only applicable to the Hydrostatic Release Unit For Liferaft by our company. Like the liferaft, HRU should have an annual service inspectionand should be serviced by the trained at the authorized liferaftservice station.

Do not use any damaged Hydrostatic Release Unit. During repair and maintenance, be sure to use the spare partsprovided by our company, otherwise it may cause functiondamage.

1. Ensure the inlet to be unobstructed,HRU surface must notbe painted to avoid blocking the water inlet.

2. It is to be installed only when the HRU is inspected andrepaired by the liferaft station which is approved by CCS, with aqualified performance mark by ship inspection.

3. The folding angle should be less than 30° when install thecotter pin on the chain hook, easy to pull out by hand win caseof emergency.

Correctly to install the HRU is the key to ensure its automaticrelease function. Specific installation method as follows (theproduct structure is shown in Figure 1, Figure 2)

Install the Hydrostatic Release Unit For Liferaft vertically on the crossbar of the liferaft cradlewith bolts, the product nameplate faces inboard and the lift hook(5) faces upwards,the connection between HRU and crossbarmust be firm.

Connect the chain hook ring(8) with the liferaft shell fixing beltthrough a rigging with screw buckle, and fix the liferaft.3 Connect the liferaft throwing rope(1) to the shackle(2) to ensurethe two are firmly connected.

Confirm that one end of the Easy break rope(4) is fastenedto the body of Hydrostatic Release Unit For Liferaft, the other end is fastened to the shackle(2). and the ropes at both ends should be firmly connected

In case the wrecked ship sinks and there is no time for manualrelease, when the liferaft sinks to a certain depth in the water, theliferaft can be automatically released by the hydrostatic pressurerelease device. The specific release process is as follows: D When the ship sinks in a disaster, the hydrostatic pressurerelease device sinks with the life raft (see Figure 3A). 2 When the sunken ship sinks to a depth of 2~4 m, seawaterenters the water storage cavity of the hydrostatic pressure releasedevice through the water inlet, When the sunken ship sinks to adepth of 2-4 m, seawater enters the water storage cavity of thehydrostatic pressure release device through the water inlet, whichcauses the pressure of the seawater on the rubber diaphragm tocompress the stainless steel spring, which drives the mandrel tomove inward. Due to the buoyancy of the liferaft shell in the waterthe hook is forced to rotate around the axis, driving the safetyhook to rotate at the same time, and then the big hook loop andthe small hook loop fall off, and the liferaft is separated from theliferaft shell fixing belt and The raft hull floats freely under thebuoyancy of the raft shell (see Figure 3B). 3 As the shipwreck continued to sink and the life raft floated up.the liferaft throwing rope connected to the fragile rope wastightened, and the inflation cable of the gas cylinder was pulledcausing the inflation valve of the gas cylinder to be openedmaking the life raft fast Inflate and expand (see Figure 3D)
